Three regions, six matches, and at least four teams playing with their Masters London 2026 qualification already secure. Another four face elimination before the weekend. Friday, May 15 is the kind of day the VCT calendar builds toward, where upper bracket winners start thinking about seeding while lower bracket survivors claw for the last available plane tickets to England.

Here is what every series means across EMEA, Pacific, and Americas.

EMEA: FUT Esports and Team Vitality Collide With First Seed on the Line

The headline match of the day takes place at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, where the VCT EMEA Stage 1 playoffs reach their Upper Final. FUT Esports face Team Vitality at 17:00 CEST in a best-of-three that determines who walks into Sunday’s Grand Final as the upper bracket representative.

Both teams already hold tickets to Masters London. That was settled last Thursday, when FUT and Vitality each won their Upper Semifinal and became the first two EMEA organizations to lock in qualification. The stakes today are about seeding and momentum, not survival. The winner claims a spot in the Grand Final with a one-match cushion. The loser drops to the Lower Final on Saturday, still alive but forced to play an extra series against a lower bracket opponent that has been grinding elimination matches all week.

FUT’s Reinvention

FUT Esports finished joint-last at EMEA Kickoff alongside PCIFIC Esports, going home in 11th-12th place with nothing to show for it. That fact shapes the context for everything that followed, because nothing about this team’s Stage 1 campaign resembles the squad that left Berlin empty-handed in February. Two roster moves changed the trajectory. s0pp and sociablEE came in ahead of Stage 1, and the results followed. FUT topped Group Alpha with a 4:1 record, entered the playoffs as a first seed with a bye into the Upper Semifinals, and beat compatriots Eternal Fire 2:1 on May 8 to punch their London ticket.

That Eternal Fire series told a specific story about FUT’s resilience. Eternal Fire crushed them on Pearl, with echo recording an ace and a 13:5 scoreline. FUT responded by running away with Ascent, then clawing back from a 4:8 deficit on Split to close it out 13:11. Four of five players on this roster will be attending their first international LAN since Champions 2024. For a team that rebuilt its core just weeks before Stage 1 began, the turnaround is as sharp as any in the 2026 VCT season.

Vitality’s Reawakening

Team Vitality took the longer, uglier road to get here. Their group stage record was 2:3 in Group Omega, and they only reached playoffs after a final-week win over PCIFIC Esports combined with BBL’s loss to Fnatic. On paper, this was a superteam underperforming for the second consecutive event after missing Masters Santiago entirely at Kickoff.

Then the playoffs started, and the switch flipped.

Vitality beat Team Liquid 2:1 in Upper Bracket Round 1, overcoming one of the strongest group stage performers in the EMEA field. One round later, they dismantled FNATIC 2:0 in the Upper Semifinals. The Breeze map against Fnatic was a statement performance from Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev, who finished with 26 kills, 8 deaths, a 392 ACS, and a 2.09 rating while tearing apart his former teammates with the Outlaw and the Operator. Vitality took a 9:3 first half and never looked back, closing the map 13:4. On Haven, Fnatic built a 9:3 lead of their own, but Vitality stormed back to take the map and complete the sweep.

IGL Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen called it his first international qualification since 2023 and did not hide his emotions in the post-match interview. For a roster that features Jamppi, Derke, Chronicle, PROFEK, and Sayonara, the expectation was always that Vitality would be here. The question entering Friday is whether they arrived early enough to take the first seed, or whether FUT’s structural consistency across the full stage gives the Turkish side the edge.

The Lower Bracket Elimination: Team Heretics vs Eternal Fire

Three hours after the Upper Final, the second EMEA match of the day puts Team Heretics against Eternal Fire at 20:00 CEST in Lower Round 3. The loser is eliminated from VCT EMEA Stage 1. The winner advances to the Lower Final on Saturday, where a third and final Masters London 2026 qualification spot is on the line.

Team Heretics reached this point through a punishing lower bracket gauntlet. After losing to Eternal Fire 1:2 in Upper Round 1, Heretics dropped to the lower bracket and proceeded to beat BBL Esports 2:0 and FNATIC 2:1 on consecutive days. The Fnatic elimination match on May 10 went to overtime on Ascent, where RieNs and benjyfishy pulled off multiple clutch situations in disadvantaged rounds to survive 15:13. Eternal Fire arrived via a 2:0 sweep of Gentle Mates in Lower Round 2, a clean performance that set up this rematch.

This is the second time these two teams meet in the Stage 1 playoffs. Eternal Fire won the first encounter. Heretics will be looking to flip the script with the benefit of lower bracket experience and the tactical adjustments that come from studying an opponent you already lost to.

Whoever wins on Friday still needs one more victory on Saturday to reach London. Whoever loses goes home.

Pacific: Ho Chi Minh City Finals Weekend Begins

VCT Pacific Stage 1 moves to Ho Chi Minh City for the Finals Weekend, and Friday delivers two matches that settle the remaining qualification picture.

Upper Final: Global Esports vs FULL SENSE (12:00 CEST)

Global Esports and FULL SENSE play the Pacific Upper Final. Both teams are already qualified for Masters London, making this a contest for the Grand Final berth and first-seed positioning.

Global Esports became the first Indian organization in VCT history to reach a Masters event by winning their way through the upper bracket. They swept Rex Regum Qeon 2:0 in Round 1, then took down Paper Rex 2:1 in the Upper Semifinals. FULL SENSE, competing in their first VCT Pacific season after replacing TALON’s partnership slot, matched that run by sweeping Kiwoom DRX 2:0 and blanking T1 2:0. The Thai core of Crws, JitboyS, and Primmie played together under TALON in 2025 before Riot Games removed the organization. Their only prior international appearance was at Champions 2021.

Lower Round 3: T1 vs Paper Rex (14:00 CEST)

The elimination match follows at 14:00 CEST. T1 face Paper Rex in Lower Round 3, with the loser going home and the winner advancing to the Lower Final for the third and final Pacific spot at Masters London.

Both teams entered the playoffs as group winners with Upper Semifinal byes. Both lost in the Upper Semifinals. Paper Rex fell to Global Esports 1:2, while T1 were swept by FULL SENSE 0:2. Since then, each has won one lower bracket series: T1 beat Rex Regum Qeon 2:1, and Paper Rex beat Kiwoom DRX 2:1.

The wider context adds weight. Nongshim RedForce, the reigning Masters Santiago champions, were eliminated by Kiwoom DRX in Lower Round 1 and will not attend Masters London. Neither T1 nor Paper Rex can afford to join them on the sidelines. T1 finished second at Pacific Kickoff and attended Masters Santiago. Paper Rex qualified for Santiago through the lower bracket at Kickoff and have been a Pacific fixture at international events for years. One of them ends their Stage 1 run on Friday.

Americas: The Bracket Opens in Los Angeles

VCT Americas Stage 1 began its playoff bracket on May 14 and continues today with the tournament’s first Upper Semifinal and two Lower Round 1 elimination matches. The entire Americas bracket runs later than the other regions, with the Grand Final scheduled for May 24 at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles.

Wednesday’s results set up Thursday’s matchups. Leviatรกn beat FURIA 2:1 to advance through Upper Round 1, while G2 Esports swept 100 Thieves 2:0.

Today’s Americas Matches

MIBR vs Leviatรกn opens the Upper Semifinal at 23:00 CEST. MIBR topped their group and earned the first-round bye, making this their playoff debut. Leviatรกn, fresh off the FURIA win, will look to carry that momentum into a match against the group’s top seed.

On the lower bracket side, FURIA vs NRG (23:00 CEST) and 100 Thieves vs LOUD (02:00 CEST) are both Lower Round 1 elimination matches. FURIA dropped from the upper bracket after losing to Leviatรกn; 100 Thieves fell after the G2 sweep. Both now face sudden death against opponents who entered the bracket from the bottom of their respective groups.

KRรœ Esports vs G2 Esports follows on May 16 in the other Upper Semifinal. KRรœ topped Group Omega and, like MIBR, enter the bracket with a bye. All three Masters London spots from Americas remain open.

Friday is the fulcrum. By the time the last series wraps in Los Angeles, two more teams will be eliminated across EMEA and Pacific, and the Americas bracket will have its first clear favorites. Masters London runs June 6 through 21, and the twelve-team field is filling fast.
